About the Artist

Born in Brawley, California in desert farmland, Richard T. Taecker received his B.A. degree in art and theatre and a secondary teaching credential at San Diego State University in 1971. Deciding not to teach, Richard became a commercial photographer in San Diego. There he became a member of PPA, Professional Photographers of America.

Long before there was a computer in every home, Richard published a photo book of fairies. Using low tech multiple exposure techniques, Richard accompanied his images with lines of romantic era poetry.

In 1982 Richard discovered Renaissance Festivals and began his twenty-five year journey as a vendor in that industry and community. Founding "Enchanted Images", his costumed photo-portrait concession, Richard has had the opportunity to travel around the United States experiencing the diversity of our nation. His pursuit of personal photography and fantasy images continued as his passions. As time passed Richard became aware of the potential of computer imagery in pursuit of his art. These images are the product of those combined experiences.
